Does it stand on a table on either magnification side? Or does it stand only on one side and the other side is the folded position?

I have used mine both ways. A pretty nifty mirror. Well made. I have hung it either way and propped on a table either way. Love it.

what size is the viewing area NOT including the frame?

The actual viewing area is 5 inches.
