Limited vinyl LP pressing. Drowned in a Sea of Sound is one of Clairecords' most successful and revered releases. The album takes nothing but the best elements of the band's highly acclaimed EP's and blends them with some entirely new experimental soundscapes. The Daysleepers trademark sound of mixing dreampop, post-punk and new wave styles is still very much present and at times pushes even beyond those boundaries. Imagine the sounds of the Cure, Cocteau Twins, The Chameleons and Slowdive rolled into one. These 10 tracks touch on a wide variety of sounds and emotions ranging from spacey ethereal drones to blissful up-tempo dreampop beauty. For fans of the early out-of-print EP's, Hide Your Eyes and The Soft Attack, Drowned in a Sea of Sound is a must have. It is proof that The Daysleepers have fully matured and discovered their true sound. Review: Refreshing vocals and instruments - There's this band that I love, called Faunts, and it has been years since they've released something new, so I went on a hunt to find another band like them. I didn't expect last.fm to give me such a wonderful band. The first song that came up was "Release the Kraken" and immediately the guitar and the singer's voice caught my attention. I went on youtube, listening to everything that I could, but I finally decided to buy the album after a few months because I had to own such great music. All the songs on this album are unique and relaxing to listen to. Their style is familiar, yet it feels new. It's weird, but it's one of the perfect albums to just listen to while you lay down and watch the clouds go by. It paints colors in your head, each song having its own feel to it. I guess they really reflect the genre, "dreampop." If you like mellow music that still has strong guitars and drums, or if you're a daydreamer like me, then this is a really great album to have. Any maybe it'll lead you into their other songs. I know I plan to get more of their music! Review: Beautiful shoegazer dream Pop. - New, sealed product, so no issues at all. Such a beautiful sounding album. So infatuated with this band. Highly recommended.

Exceptional nu-gaze artist!
This album is one of the best that I've come across in a long time. In my opinion, this CD rates right up there with the best from Chandeen, Love Is Colder Than Death, sToa, and Autumn's Gray Solace, leaning more toward shoegaze than goth in atmosphere. Vocals are mostly a wonderfully harmonizing duet, surrounded by lush soundscapes. It becomes more addictive with each listening, and leaves one longing for more from this artist. Stand-out tracks are "Release the Kraken", "Twilight Bloom", "Summerdreamer" and "Tiger in the Sea". Also check out The Daysleepers' EPs "The Soft Attack" on CD, and "Hide Your Eyes" (downloadable only).

Excellent dreampop album!
I really love this band, specially this album. It is a beautiful mixture of shoegaze and dreampop. Songs are beautiful, catchy and powerful at the same time. I strongly recommend the vinyl since it sounds very good.

Awesome shoegaze
This is some great shoegaze music. Excellent songs, great production, and singers who actually sing. I subtracted one star as some of the lyrics aren't up to the quality of the music, but that's a minor quibble.

Awesome band.
Reminds me of The Cure in a way. Beautiful and ethereal.

Five Stars
Great group, wonderful, ethereal sounds that still command a solid rock sound.

I discovered the Daysleepers a few years ago and connected immediately. Being a fan of 90's shoegaze I was so pleased to find a fresh band bringing the sound up to date. It's energising and relaxing all at once! This is a work of love and a must for your collection, however CD's are scarce; vinyl like angels eyelashes. Had to make do with their other releases on download only. I haven't heard much from them lately. I do hope they are still making music!
