what exactly is in the kit. all it says is "1 complete set". items and how many of each ?

There is a squeegee (sp?), a handle grip for the scouring pad, 6 of the pads (and I have washed and reused these numerous times before deciding to finally start a new one), and at least 8 packets of the cleaning solution, which again, I get numerous uses out of each packet because I only need a drizzle of it on my 12 inch griddle.

Does it clean rust off as well?

I would be surprised if it did. It's formulated to disolve cooked fat and food. You might want to try a Google search ... cleaning rust off griddle

What is the handle that the scratch pads attach to made of? Trying to see if it can be used to clean a deep far fryer safeky.

its a hard plastic of some sort

Can I use this cleaning kit on the griddle of my Viking range?

We have a Wolf Range and we use it to clean the griddle. It is excellent! I would check the Viking website. I did same for Wolf and it either recommended this product or the reviews stated to use this! Hope that helps!
