As with many supplements one cannot necessarily feel obvious effects from, one has to just trust the marketer or manufacturer about the quality of what is in the supplement. Does it meet the "Q&Q" standards on the label? As for Ergothioneine, one of the best kept secrets in the brain health area, one has to trust Toniiq and I do at this time. I prefer supplements than offer studies to back up their product claims and I like the quantity of milligrams in the capsules. Standard is 5 mg. They give you 30 mg. Sometimes that signals inferior, and therefore cheaper, ingredients, or a form of the supplement that is not very bioavailable. I don't think that's the case here; Toniiq's market strategy is to "brute force" supplements. When bioavailability is an issue, that can be a problem but it's not with ergothioneine, which crosses the BBB and helps reduce ROS in brain tissue -- very important. You don't want to eliminate ROS completely lest you lose your body's ability to signal its own clean up crew, but 30 mg won't do that.

Feeling slightly less brain fog which I think leads to a bit more focus. I think there might be some effect on overall energy level, but nothing drastic. Kind of has an odd smell that somehow is comparable to the smells of other amino acids I’ve tried but unique to its own aroma… malty or alkaline like odor that teases a bit of fishiness…

They say that you should take two tablets. But I discovered upon my own review and reviews of others that they saw more results after taking just one tablet. Some people are different, two tablets made me have the opposite effect whereas one tablet knocked my ass out.

My adult 40+ son and I experienced strong side effects about 20-30 minutes after taking, light headedness, disorientation, confusion. We did not take another dose.

The recommendation is to take two tablets; however, after personally trying them for over half a month, I haven't seen even the slightest change. I suppose, after all, everyone's constitution is different—perhaps this just isn't the right fit for me.
