Great, sturdy and good to travel with. Protect your sewing machine.

As a carrying case, this Singer Universal Hard Case is good looking. My Brother XR3340 Machine fits inside with room to spare. Lightweight makes moving my sewing machine easy. The handle, built-in rather than hung on hinges, is a streamlined design. The top cover secures to the base with strong hinges that don't require extra strength to open and shut. Once locked, it's tightly encased against dust and accidentally opening when carried. The case is smooth, with no edges that catch or jab, when moving or storing it.

I've been using this with my 60's Kenmore machine, which is pretty much solid metal. I mostly use it to move houses, which it has done three times, and had no issues. Everything fits nicely in there and it doesn't slide around too much- it would be easy to add padding or grip if I wanted though. The latches seem nice and secure and the whole thing is pretty sturdy. If you have an old machine with no specific case available, or that has (like mine) been hanging out in its original box for 40 years, upgrade to this!

I had an old portable singer that I never had a case for. I keep it in the RV for small repairs. I really wanted to protect it more than just wedging suitcases and boxes against it. This case fit well around it. I did put styrofoam pieces around the base and top to keep it from rocking in the case but at least the delicate parts are now protected. Would recommend.

This is just about the only hard case I could find for a sewing machine. My Janome beginner's machine is a bit small for it so if I use it to travel, it would need some cushion put in to not clunk around. That's not really a problem, better too big than too small. I like that the bottom is a low tray so I can hook up the machine while it's on it, I don't have to move it off every time if I don't want to. I got this as a storage case more than travel to protect it when not in use from my cat (who just had a very expensive surgery from eating thread off the spool on it), so I didn't want to have to pick up the machine to store it after every use. The metal clips seem pretty strong, but the plastic is maybe a little too light weight. A bigger machine that fills out the case more may bend out the bottom when lifted. Also, when I took it from the box it hadn't been shut correctly, 1 side wasn't aligned and might have bent it out a little. I had to push it to get it close properly. It also has a number of scuffs on it, mostly on the bottom (see the right corner in the picture), but some scuffs/smudges on the lid too. I may take others' advice and sticker it. Overall, good for price and not much competition. Serves my needs well.

This is sturdy and strong. Holds my Singer Classic Gold perfectly. Not a hard case, but not squishy. Has pockets. Will last.

Good quality case, strong and effective for housing a machine. The reviews quibbling about the size are rather silly. Measure your machine first and if it will fit, hoorah! If it won't fit don't get this case. Simple as that. Would I buy another one? Yes but I don't need to.
