This unit does a great job, the thermostat maintains temperature quite well, easy to install, sound level is about average I would say for a 6000 btu unit. And the price was right.

Very well made. Compact and light weight. Set up directions were accurate. Not nearly as noisy as some say. Moving air does make some noise. A good deal.

I ordered this and it not only arrived late by 4 days but during the delay while in UPS/mail courier hands they damaged the heck out of it. The box arrived dented and buckled, appeared to have been rained on and rhen dried, and with the banding straps taped under packing tape. When I opened the box it looked like whatever bottom box it originally came in was replaced as this thing had all its extras, including the cord, shoved up inside the top of the box, so when I slid the box top off, the cord broke through the stryrofaom and the papers fell out. Aftet that happened I was able to see that indeed whoever was handling it (could also have been frigidaire) prior to me receiving it, damaged the top hood that connects to the faceplate, it was buckled upward and you could see inside. This is how far I unpacked the unit. This was 7 days ago and I selected return pickup which was handled by ups. Amazon had this returned 5 days ago and its in thier possession and I still havent recievwd my original payment back. I do believe this is the only item Ive ever reported damaged and I am worried they will not give me back my money due to the foolishness of whoever damaged this in the first place and rhen decided to pass rhe effing buck to me. This was the 4th air conditioner I ordered within 10 days or so and all the other ones showed up but were labeled the wrong size besides this one. I bought a Hikolity AC 6000btu (also on Amazon) and It came beautifully packed, was the dimensions it advertised, and has been working almost non-stop for 3 days now. I wouldnt suggest ordering any more AC units through amazon because UPS will pick up the returns but wont normally deliver it so you most likely will have to deal with 3rd party carriers that deliver such items from thier car like what happened here. Hopefully writing about it will be read by someone who doesnt want to deal with damaged units and wrong dimensions and will just wait for a ride to Home Depot or some other goods store where AC's are normally sold. *Hykolity 6kbtu is working well and I have no complaints about it*

Install was easy enough, and it works, it blows cold air. Why this isn't a 5 star review is because it also doesn't cool down the very small kids bedroom it's installed in unless you put in some manual work. The unit turns on, spins up for a bit, you hear the compressor kick in and the cold air comes a'blastin through. Great! Rooms starts cooling down. 10 minutes in, the compressor will turn off, as AC units do, they don't run constantly. But, the fans will keep running. I'm in the middle of 95 degree Missouri summer right now, so it gleefully just starts sucking in that sweet sweet 95 degree air from outside for the next 5 minutes until the compressor starts up again. So... it completely un-does what it just did and re-heats the room. It feels like a design oversight, its running the fan too long after the compressor shuts off, it should really just completely turn off and only turn back on when the compressor is ready again. Anyway, if you learn to listen to the click and whirl of the compressor turning on and off, and you just shut the unit off entirely yourself, you can effectively cool the room down with micromanagement. If you are not dealing with insane heat outside, I suspect this problem doesn't rear its head as it isn't pulling in such crazy hot air from outside during its downtime.

The noise isn’t a problem to me. Idk, maybe I’m weird, but I actually need the sound of a fan or ac running to put me to sleep. Anyway, it’s a good unit for the price, so far anyway. I live in Texas and the summers are brutal, and I have a west facing bedroom that gets a lot of sun and doesn’t cool off as much as the rest of the house with the central AC on. This fixes that problem and now it’s the coldest room in the house. It’s not extremely cold, like it doesn’t go down to 62, and I feel like the 12K BTU would make the room feel colder, but the 6K BTU still does its job sufficiently. The set up wasn’t easy though. I had to angle it specifically so that it would fit good in my window, which took some time, as well as duct tape the accordion panels to the window frame and put duct tape over them so that all the cracks were covered to prevent air from leaking in as well as access points for bugs(I only recommend doing this if you’re committed to it being in one spot all year long and don’t plan on putting it away for the winter)

It is an air conditioner. I bought this to replace an old, analog model I inherited when I moved. That one had dials and no thermostat based on a specific temperature. I wanted an AC for my bedroom that could be set to a temperature and also had a remote so I didn't need to get out of bed to change the controls. So, yes, it does all that. It has a remote, but the model I bought doesn't have all the buttons, I guess. I can't see the temp on the remote itself. Other than that, it's pretty basic. It's not too heavy or large, so I guess that's a positive. For the size, it's fairly loud. It's not too quiet. It doesn't really cool my bedroom very well. The old one was honestly colder than this. I also don't think the air blows very well. Somehow the air doesn't come out too well and the vents can't be adjusted very well to direct the air.

I bought the 6,000 unit to cool a room that gets warm from my computer. The unit is very, very small and light for what it is. It sounds just like a hotel room A/C very loud and rattles. Since I wear headphones it doesn't bother me. I really wanted a unit that shuts the fan off when it's not cooling and it does just that. Which Saves energy. It easily cools my smaller room it says it goes to 62 and it's keeping my room around 64. Don't expect this little machine to cool a big room. *Update after 1 year machine stopped blowing cold air. It blows 60F air then when it shuts down with the room temp at 75 thermostat set to 62 it starts to blow 79F air...Was wondering my electric bill was so high. Absolute garbage. Very dissapointed it only lasted a year now I have to pay to get rid of it.

I bought a Frigidaire 5,000 BTU aircon in 2013, with very similar specs to this. I had it in the window in my 400sf living room and it did a very decent job of cooling down the space by 7-10 degrees, despite advertising cooling only 150sf. I moved to a bigger house but had it installed in a smaller room and it would cool the space by 12-15 degrees! Icy! It started losing cooling power in year 12, pretty strong record, so I treated myself to a 6,000 BTU unit from the same manufacturer, but this time with a remote! oooh! BIG MISTAKE. HUGE. This is a piece of garbage. I bought it last summer and only used it a few times but was disappointed pretty much immediately. But I had some personal things going on and didn't have the bandwidth to return it and find a different one and the return window passed. This unit is the same size and easy installation as the last one, and it does make the room cooler than it started. But it's a huge frustrating disappointment overall. -It's CRAZY loud. It is advertised as 52dB but reads at 56-58 from 2m away when the compressor is on, and still 53-54 even with just the fan on. When it switches off it has a loud clunk, which often wakes me up when it is running at night. The condensation also is doing something different and there's a loud gurgling noise that wasn't present in the prior unit. -The cooling power is wimpy. It was 90 degrees outside today. When I got home three hours ago it was 85 outside and 77F in the room where I have it installed. I have run it continuously for those whole three hours, set at 65 degrees. It's now 74 degrees outside and... 72 inside. -The unit is too heavy for me to properly tip it over to see the underside, but where the previous one set neatly into the window channel, this one is uneven on the front lip. The right side fits into the channel but the left side is too narrow, so it sits up taller and lists to the side. I have to shim it up and then put more weather stripping around the side to fill the gap. Really bad design. Overall, it does not function as advertised, and I am disappointed that another once reputable brand has succumbed to the lowest quality, short term use garbage in the name of quick profits. It should be much less frustrating than it is, but I guess it is still better than nothing.
