Challenging but fun
We did this with our 14 and 17 year old sons. We were quite confused at first as the directions were minimal. Over time, we got a better sense of what they were looking for. The fourteen year old bowed out after a while as he felt it was too challenging and taking too long. It took us an hour and 20 mins but we eventually solved it. There is a good mix of types of problems (visual, language-based, mathmatically oriented, etc.). We will probably try another holiday version in the future.

Amazing, except for the last puzzle
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this game - the technology integration, ease of playing, the riddles, etc. I think it is incredibly well done, and just challenging enough where it is not the most difficult, but you feel accomplished completing the puzzles (we have done quite a few escape games too). That being said, we did not enjoy the last puzzle. Not going to give any hints or spoilers, but this is just our personal opinion. Still giving 5 stars, and we would definitely be interested in trying another puzzle by from these creators.

Fun Holiday Family Activity
I did this with my two college age kids and we were challenged in some parts! But super fun. Will purchase another one.

Harder than 2/3
I tried to play with my 10 year old daughter. Definitely more for an older crowd. You canโt play with more than 2-3 people as the cards are small and are required for each question. We ended up clicking to give hints for most questions. Maybe I just like in person escape rooms more!

Mixed bag
My family of 4 broke this out tonight think it would be a quick, fun after dinner activity. I bought this as part of a white elephant gift and we love doing mystery games, so I thought this would be a fun holiday version. The more time we spent on this game the less fun we had. Some questions are well written, others are so vague you have to use hints just to try and figure out what your goal is. The hints are also a combination of helpful and likely to cause more confusion. The holes impact the flow of the game and make it feel more like a task to understand what cards are needed at what times and how they play off each other (especially toward the end). I feel like the premise is good but the follow through was lacking.

Not a bad game, but not great
We pulled The Cupid Crisis game out last night for my husband and I to try. We have played many escape room games from other companies so we were looking forward to a Valentine's Day themed game. You need to have access to a smart phone or a computer to play it. The app you use has hints, but several of the hints were not really helpful. Especially the last problem. We used ALL the hints for the last problem, worked on it for an hour, and even when we finally clicked "tell me the answer" we STILL don't understand how they got that answer. Are we dumb? Maybe. But it is still frustrating that there was no explanation of how that answer was reached. Normally if we get stuck we can go online to walkthrus for help. But this game is so new no one has posted how to solve the problems. Another puzzle about chocolates and a nut allergy was hard and time consuming, but we got there in the end. The last puzzle though. I really think the company needs to rethink their hints and add some more information. The description even in the hint seemed misleading. We are in our early 50's and the game took us 3 1/2 hours. I saw people online talking about how the game only took them an hour. Really? It was fun to spend time together, but I wanted to understand what we were missing. I wish I could ask someone to explain how the final puzzle was supposed to be solved. We used the suggested information, but we are still in the dark! If you decide to buy this game, just be warned. Some of the puzzles were good, but that last one sunk our battleship.

Really great escape game
When I got this my expectations dropped - how could only 18 cards be a good escape game. An hour and a half later, everyone who played it loved it. There are a number of very different puzzles to solve. There's also a web page with additional info, hints, etc. and a place to enter your answers to see if you are right or not. You have to use the web page with the game - it cannot be played by itself. You enter answers into the web page and it lets you know which cards you can next look at. It keeps your time and gives you a score at the end depending on how much time you took and how many answers you got wrong (and how much help you used). A lot of the info on the web page is not considered a hint - just some generic information that you may or may not need to use (for instance, one is a list of numbers and letters (A=1, B=2, ...)). So these are simply some tools that may help you solve some of the puzzles. The one we did (Cupid Crisis) is rated 3/3 in difficulty, and there was one puzzle we needed to get a hint for (this does count against your final score, unlike the tools which do not). Most of the puzzles were fairly straightforward but challenging if you are used to escape games. I've played the EXIT games, the UNLOCK! games, the CLUE escape game and several others. I thought the puzzles in this game were very good - a good variety of puzzles with varying levels of difficulty. Some we got right away, some we had to think for a while, and one we needed to get help on. Some of the puzzles required outside knowledge, but on the web page are reference pages that can help you with those puzzles. I don't want to explain that too much in case it spoils a game - just know that you NEED to use the website and you should look at the "Other Info" section (separate from the "Hints" section). I was quite surprised at the depth of a game with only 18 cards - but it is now one of my favorite escape games. You can only play it once but you do not need to destroy the cards to play - so you can safely pass the game along to friends once you finish it. It is very easy to reset the game to the original starting position (the cards have numbers on their back). Overall, a great game - I will be buying more of them. Well worth the money (but don't be surprised when only 18 playing cards show up - there's a lot of fun in those 18 cards).
