Safety Window Restrictor

I was looking for a well built window cable lock, and came across this one. Many restrictors that I found were cheaply made and the "lock" was little more than something that could be turned with a flat screwdriver. HOWEVER the Jackloc restrictor has a 5 lever lock, with a proper key. The cable is securely fitted and I can see that this will last a lifetime. I chatted by email with the company (in the UK) to ensure that this would meet my requirement, and I'm very happy to say that it does. I even have one fitted to my front door (instead of a door chain). Having the ability to unlock it, means that even if one of us is out and the other is using the restrictor, I can unlock it to let myself in. Not having a Canadian distributor is a bit awkward, but the extra shipping costs were worth it. I would definitely recommend it.

Nice quality product. Easy to install and provides piece of mind. We have an adventurous child, and live in a high rise condo.

These are easy to install, and give comfort having them in our grandaughters' fourth floor bedrooms. They interfere with screens though, so we had to cut a slot in screens .

This worked perfectly to secure the window in our toddler's room. It was very easy to install and I like how it can easily be unlocked in case of an emergency. My only complaint is having to drill holes in the window frame.

Seem well made and robust. Easy to fit, unobtrusive and provide that extra layer of security when windows are open.

Good Quality, but has only one key

Found our eldest, aged five, climbing on his bedroom window ledge recently and decided this was a necessity. Now have these on a single window in each of our kids bedrooms and feel much happier leaving them open at night and during the hot summer days. Fitted very easily and quickly to our uPVC windows. Just needed 3mm holes drilling for all x4 mounting screws. Locking mechanism on one part of window and security lead on the other. As others have said, the x4 security screws are a little OTT and unnecessary, that said I have used them just fine on both of mine. Slightly more fiddly to tighten up and once screwed in they aren't easily removable so you only get one shot to get them right. The only downside to this in my mind would be if one of your fixings didn't hold too well, you wouldn't easily be able to remove the screw without drilling it out. Build quality on this product is superb though, really well made, solid. Decent key mechanism. One key fits all all locks in case you lose one. Would certainly buy this again over a cheaper alternative.
