They are manufactured by highly skilled hand spinners in Leicester. The Hopkins Mute has been designed with both the professional and beginner in mind. Its unique resonance rings hard pressed into the base of the mute, (which is the area that the sound comes from) allows the base of the mute to vibrate like a speaker cone and projects the sound of the instrument outwards even at low volumes.
