They also allow for a small a of movement of the polycarbonate sheet due to natural expansion and contraction of the sheet. Polycarbonate sheets can expand and contract quite considerably. The compression kets also stop uplift due to wind and sheets being dislodged by snow or wind by being pulled out of cappings. Drill at least 40mm away from the edge. Drill between the ribs. Do not over-tighten the screw fixing and squash the sheets - as a guide the button should not touch the sheet. Using an 18mm drill bit will allow the sheet to move due to natural expansion and contraction. Use to fix into purlins, noggins or rafters.
