Best of the breed
This is the 5th knife with Marlin spike that I've purchased. It's the highest quality of all of them, sharpest out of the box, and small enough to keep in your pocket. The only knocks I'd give it is the mechanism to put the blade back in requires a lot of force and hurts a bit. As well, the spike doesn't have as fine of a point as the others I have, and so using it for knots in smaller lines or cord will be more difficult. It. It shouldn't be too difficult to make it more pointy though.

Great Knife!
I don't work on a boat, so I can't tell you how this knife works around salt water. I took up working with paracord as a hobby in my old age and purchased this knife to cut cord and loosen knots, and it does great. The blade and marlin spike open smoothly and lock securely with one hand. I don't just like this knife; I love it!

Bad knife
The first day I used the marlin spike, the spring bent and would no longer retain the spike in the opened position. I did not use very much force when this failure occured. I have other knifes with marline spike and they work fine. I am very disappointed with this knife

Perfect pocket sized rigging knife
Perfect pocket sized rigging knife. Great solid construction and quality. Buy the Captain (3.25" blade) version if you want something larger than the Crew (2.5" inch blade) pocket knife.
