Product Description ------------------- In 1978 perfumer Ron Winnegrad created an oriental and woodsy fragrance for prestigious house Karl Lagerfeld, named Lagerfeld Classic. The perfume opens with aldehydes, bergamot, nutmeg, sweet orange and estragon. The heart is collected of cedarwood, intense and sweet jasmine, iris, patchouli, rose, sandalwood and . The base exposes amber, musk, oak, Tonka beans and vanilla. The bottle was styled by Karl Lagerfeld and the nose behind this fragrance is Ron Winnegrade. Karl Lagerfeld (born Karl Lagerfeldt) is a German-born artist and style designer now based in Paris. Excellently elusive about the details of his personal life, he is thought to have been born in the 1930s. His fashion career got off to a prestigious start in 1955 when he was given an apprenticeship at Pierre Balmain. He moved on to Jean Patou just three years later, and continued there for five years, designing two haute couture collections each year. His early designs were contentious for their low necklines, low backs and short skirts. Poorly received by critics, the collections nonetheless made a name for Lagerfeld and allowed him to begin working as a freelance designer for such varied houses as Tiziana, Chloe, Curiel and Fendi. In 1983, he took over as an imaginative director for Chanel, where he remains today.
