How to fix it on do you need a button

This fits by wrapping the longer piece around the head-stock, under the strings, just above the nut near the machine heads. The other piece of the quick release system fits through a hole at the end of the guitar strap. But the guitar will need to have a button for the other end of the guitar strap to attach to, either on the side/back of the neck where it attaches to the body of the guitar, or at the bottom of the guitar.
