When I picked it up, the first thing I noticed was the weight. Some fountain pens are light and cheap; this is not. It is perfectly weighted. Critically, when I put in a cartridge, and started writing, the ink flowed immediately - no early hesitation, which is common in fountain pens. That impressed me. The pen has a ‘wet’ flow - constant and generous, no matter the writing speed. I have other other fountain pens, including a Mont Blanc, that are best for a slow write, and be a little scratchy, but this pen kept its flow whatever my writing speed.
