Since it's from National Geographic, it follows that the appeal of the pictures supports the ideas for places, making it an excellent book, whether choosing and planning holidays, or for wider knowledge.

i was expecting something better especially that it is national geographic publication. Book looks good and it can be a very nice present but inside information is not as good as i thought it would be.

WOW!! This book is Incredibly Beautiful -- every time I turn a page, it's another sweeping vista beckoning my Wanderlust & curiosity to know more! the sprawling photos say more than any captions can, The captions/descriptions are enlightening, helpful (tariffs, for ex) & include cool details like the 'scent' of a place(/activity) . Mentioned: Scotland's Orkney Islands, Papua New Guinea coral reef; Chile Lake District; 'Old standbys' include: Bhutan flags over monastery, Icelandic puffins; Athens ruins; a good 4 pages dedicated to Galapagos (as should be!) but the perspective of the photos is modern -- and every place looks worth experiencing! THIS BOOK IS WORTH GETTING FOR THE PHOTOGRAPHY -- check out my order history & see I own about 7 of this type of picture-travel-book (with several more on the way) : This is the Best so far!!! Put it on your coffee table / anywhere, & the conversations begin, as leafing through this comprehensive World Travel guide is irresistible !

Zu diesem Buch gibt es nicht viel zu sagen: schöne Beschreibungen und noch schönere Bilder, die Lust zum Reisen machen. Man darf fälschlicherweise nicht davon ausgehen, dass dies ein Reiseführer ist oder einem detaillierte Informationen zu bestimmten Reisezielen bietet. Dies tut es nicht. Das Buch gibt einem jedoch schöne Ideen für Reiseziele und macht Lust auf mehr!
