For thin messy beard, firm or soft bristles? My beard is not thick, if thick means hard and fat hairs, that's not me, mine is soft

I have a similar beard and wondered which to get and ended up getting both. However over a year on I find that I prefer the firm bristles and they have helped train my beard to not be as messy. A light touch with firm bristles is not uncomfortable either.

Would i be able to use this on my head hair aswell as my beard? Would the transfer of beard oil/balm to my hair mess things up?

Thanks for your question. Personally, I wouldn't use it for both hair and beard as the brush could have some build up from all the beard products you might be using unless you're cleaning the brush very often. It's not something bad necessarily. However, you might want to apply some styling product on your hair from time to time and the oils/butters/waxes from the beard products might not work very well together with your styling products. - John

It's a firm brush, you may find its too hard on your head hair. The transfer of any substance depends how much you end up using,  mine collects quite a lot of the overrun between the bristles, but clean the brush regularly and you shouldn't get any problems

How do you clean this brush ?

Remove the hair with a wide toothed comb, carefully so you don’t pull out any bristles
Gently cleanse with water, using a cloth to wipe
Rinse only. Do not submerge brush. This can cause mold.
Gently squeeze excess water that may have gotten trapped.
Lay your brush on a towel with the bristles facing down to dry.
Job done.
