I recently got an #lgrand, and I knew things were going on the roof, so I got one of these in. The unit seems well made, and I am pretty happy with the unit However, I am not totally happy with it on the elgrand, where this mounts the surfaces are notnideal, it still works, but not as good as it would on other days etc. It is still good enough to stay in the bag onboard though.

Fits well into my VW T6 door close loop but is slightly loose and moves around. I need to use it more to gain confidence and also prove that it won't cause damage to the vehicle.

Very sturdy build quality. Works great on my Tesla Model Y when securing my sea kayak onto the roof bars. Make sure you adjust the rubber bit so it sits flat against the door dram.

This is an amazing gizmo for reaching my ladder on the van roof without using a step ladder. A great find!

So I’ve just got a Volvo XC60 and a Thule top box. Having had a Volvo V50 where I could get into the top box with a stretch I didn’t consider that the additional height of the XC would be an issue. It is. I couldn’t shut the box without standing on the door call; so I needed something else. I had no hope as it was. So when I found this I was pleased. It came, its really really well engineered and built. There is a but though. The door width is limited on this XC, and might not be an issue on other SUVs. But it is on this model. I am tall but even then found difficulty on the front door; the device fits well and is easy to clip on and appears safe. But the step height in the front was a real stretch to get onto. The killer was the rear; the door hook is higher on the body and standing on the Cill and hoofing a foot up might be great for a yoga fanatic but not only could I not do it I didn’t feel it would be safe in that position, and with a slight leaning back fitment. You might say aaah what does he know; but I was a proper aircraft engineer doing servicing outside of hangars but this didn’t give me that sense of safety. It truly, in my view, on this car, with my frame is not good. I’ve seen the alternatives that are lower than the hook height that I felt could be be better. But… I decided not to. I’ve gone for a 40cm folding step; it’ll fit in the car and is, in my humble opinion safer. For others though this clearly works but if you’ve a ‘60 then maybe not.

I've got a Freelander, so quite tall, and when putting something on the roof bars it's quite challening to reach up. This is such a clever little piece of kit, just hook it into the door lock loop and you're away. Small enough that it just slots in next to the spare wheel in the boot for when I need it.

A great device, If any thing , could do with a wide foot plate for tip toes to reach over into roof box

Absolutely brilliant tool that just clips onto your car/vans door receiver. It gives extra height when trying to secure ladders etc onto roof racks etc. Good and sturdy. I would highly recommend this product
