Electric Fence Wire Strainer, 10PCS Heavy Duty Inline Wire Tensioner, Wire Ratchet Tensioner for Electric Fence, Farm Fence

Used these to replace the "twist twig" for the H-braces. I'm using the 2 stranded smooth wire, 1 strand through each hole. First set of these I bought a year ago, and the braces are still holding tight. Love that I can ratchet it if needed to be tighted. Working on the rest of the pasture, now. Definitely a good product!!

We bought these for use in tightening trellises in the garden. We were originally going to purchase locally, but the multi-pack here was a much better value. I was actually surprised at the quality of the wire tensioners when they arrived. They were the same quality as ones we had looked at in a brick and mortar store and larger than I had expected for the price. We have used these on our trellises (and clothes line) for the last couple months now and they have held up very well. We'll be needing more as we expand the garden, and I will be happy to purchase more from this seller.

For the price, I think it would be hard to beat this product as a fence wire tensioner. I used it on pretty heavy barbed wire, and it worked well. The only thing I didn't like, using it on an existing fence was the fact that you had to cut the wire to attach it to the tensioner. I know it was designed for electric fence wire or corner post brace wire, but with a few alterations, I was able to tighten an existing barbed wire fence without having to cut it. The trick is to make a steeple out of heavy gauge wire that will fit through the two holes in the spool to trap the wire so it will wind up as you work the rachet. I also ground a slot in the front of the bracket that holds the spool so it would slide over the wire for stability. Pics included. And by the way, the tensioner handle that is recommended with this product doesn't work without some serious alterations.

Exactly what I needed to tension the wires that hold up our blueberry netting. We have a half acre of blueberry bushes as a pick-your-own operation which we cover with netting to keep the birds off. 10 wires 100 yards long are suspended 6 1/2 feet off the ground to support the netting above the bushes. These tensioners worked perfectly to keep the wires tight.

Came exactly as described! I only gave 4 stars since I ordered 6 of these and they put them all in one box. So, by the time they got to me the box was a mess.
