Beware the myth of the tongue map, which this book perpetuates. On the other hand, this makes a good opportunity to teach that you can't believe everything you read in a book!

I used the book to help launch a number of conversations and experiments for my preschoolers.

Cute book that explains the five senses!

I use this book with my second graders to eliminate misconceptions many students have about how their senses work. The simple diagrams and humorous twist make learning fun. It is also a great book to use to teach nonfiction conventions and elements.

I home school my 4-year-old grandson two days a week and the unit was The Five Senses. The program includes a list of books to use. I was looking for something funny and this title offered a little silliness. It has cute illustrations and does include information and experiments about the senses. But, in my opinion, the title was the only bit of humor in it. It is the only book of the three I ordered that my grandson did not want me to read more than once. Can't really recommend it.

I found this book to be simple for Pre-School and lower Elementary students to understand, yet informative.

My five-year-old requests this a lot. We love the Try This! sections -- they are easy to do on the spot and illustrate the concepts well.
