Another quality product from the Victron group. Easy to fit and setup. Once calibrated you can see your voltage and current use into and out of the battery. It will then give you a state of charge so you can keep your battery from over discharging. Out of the box it’s ready to with standard lead acid batteries Change some settings for use with lithium and other batteries. I’ve been using it in my caravan a while now and find it useful, easier than watching the voltage on the caravan meter that is so far out of calibration when sited without an electric supply.

We use this on our narrowboat. Great bit of kit and has transformed how we monitor our batteries. Great addition.

I have 2 of these and they both work excellent. The readings are accurate. The set up is easy. Easy to connect and the Bluetooth connectivity is great with the Victron Ve Direct app. You can set parameters and monitor battery status and also see what power is being charged or discharged from your batteries, view battery history and lots more. This shunt is sharing data with my other Victron units in a network and this system works great too.

I have been wanting a shunt for a few years now for our narrowboat but have been reluctant to spend big money on a quality one and even more reluctant to buy a cheap unreliable . When I saw this it provided a great compromise between cist and quality. I like the fact that there is no wall display to clutter my already busy control panel. I also like the fact that it better guides my victron battery charger to be more efficient. I particularly like the fact that I can clearly see how often my battery comes back to a full charge state, essential for lead acid batteries. For those concerned about reports of poor connectivity via Bluetooth DON'T. Yes it can be a little glitchy if rushed. Our batteries are kept in the engine room and I manage to get a signal from about 4meters away. The only time I struggle is when I don't allow the app to correctly register all the devices first. Open the app and allow it to correctly identify ALL available victron devices before making your selection 1st. The only thing I was a little unhappy with is the data logging only happens whilst connected via Bluetooth. It would be nice to see daily usage rather than an accumulative total

The battery monitor function on my control panel doesn't work and I was worried about damaging the battery by draining it too much.. I installed the smart shunt and it's brilliant, I can now get a handle on how much power I'm using at any given time and I now understand how much power each thing uses in the van, the old monitor would never give me this detail. So simple to install, took ten minutes..my only gripe is that the Bluetooth signal is pretty weak. When I stand outside the van on the opposite side from where the shunt is it doesn't connect, which is no more that 3m away..but it works no.probs when I'm in the van which is most important. I'd advise anyone with a camper to get one, it gives you way more information than a standard control panel battery monitor. Therefore a much better understanding of your energy use.

I've been upgrading the boat's front end electrical system including a 120 amp alternator, so I needed to upgrade from my 100 AMP Shunts. This thing is fabulous. (It's in the project box on the top right of the image). no more wiring loom going to a display. Along with the Victron shore power charger I can now see much of my electrical system performance right on my phone from the cockpit thanks to the bluetooth connection. Dead easy to install, I have it hooked up to my house bank, but it also can monitor my start battery. Makes diagnosis of problems much easier having all the data in my pocket anywhere on the boat. BT range is not huge but adequate. Can be blocked by the engine depending on where I stand. but the BT booster is an available option. Money well spent

I now have two of these keeping an eye on my two solar battery banks. In conjunction with my Cerbo GX, I can keep an eye on my batteries from anywhere. The SmartShunt is very easy to install and configure. I can wirelessly connect per Bluetooth with Victron Energy's App for my smart phone, or WiFi with through my CerboGX. I can see all aspects of my batteries use, state of charge, to include the history and much more. Knowing, and seeing all of this information lets me know if I need to tweak my solar array, make changes to my charge controllers settings and help to identify a possible bad battery. This device gives me piece of mind and also allows me to set up alarms. It does a lot and is very well designed. I find the SmartShunt to be a must have for my solar system, and I think it is a great deal and value for the price for what it does. Victron Energy makes great products of high quality and durability that just work. It gets 5 stars for its function and build quality.
