I am a convert to smart plugs now!!
The Smart Power Strip is awesome. It was a breeze to set up using my iPhone, easy as taking a couple pictures. Loved that the scanner was built into the app. Able to turn off my laptop and MacBook chargers when not in use, as well as control a light by time without having to get down on my knees to reset a wall timer as daylight hours change - I can do it all from my recliner. And the controllable USB charging ports are a bonus! Response time is really fast - impressive. Happy that the app supports touch id - we have enough passwords to remember, and not having to remember another for my YoLink account is great. All devices and device control is available through the app, including doing firmware updates. Really well thought out and implemented. Looking forward to more devices from YoLink.

Works well!
YoLink power strip works well. I like the ability to use that with my other YoLink stuff. I’m a little sad you can’t control each usb port separately. It’s also missing power monitoring their other plugs have.

I love my YoLink networks, and yes I have several
So I'm a cybersecurity engineer, automating my personal systems. I have houses 700 miles apart, and I have a ridiculous level of automation because that's just how I roll. So much of the gear I use works great when I'm in the room, and fails the hour I leave for the other house. Wifi is a wonderful thing, when it works. The problem is it is easy to jam up wifi, AND so many of the IOT devices are based on 2.4ghz wifi that can be shut down by any baby monitors that use wifi frequencies but do not use wifi. A baby monitor /can/ shut down any 2.4ghz wifi within a half mile. So as a result I see tons of wifi failures in that 2.4ghz band. It's not just baby monitors, but those are a common example, there are many others. Yolink uses loran technology for communication, easily overcoming wifi failure modes. This is important to ME. Your mileage may vary. I have only two issues with yolink products. One is the speakerhub, it is wifi only, so it falls outside of my "sphere of reliability", I /really/ wish it had an ethernet port. Speakerhub makes a noise when wifi goes up and down... I hear that noise a LOT. And it isn't my wifi router's fault, any properly operating wifi AP will fail to operate when blocked by a interfering signal, that is a required part of the wifi protocol, wifi that doesn't do this is actually illegal because it might be near a military radar installation. The second thing about YoLink is that sometimes I need polling cycles of short duration, so for example a temperature probe on an air conditioner will need to have fast polling cycles to capture the curves needed to check performance of the unit. The hour polling cycles are great for most things, but sometimes I need more frequent polling cycles, even if only temporary. I wish there was a way for me to buy extra polling cycles on a month to month basis, but I think that functionality is probably reserved to larger customers with larger operations. So the power of the yolink platform is that because it is not on your wifi, it can be used to repair and remediate issues with your wifi. In my redundancy setup, I have a hub on each of the ISP's feeding a site, so that if one ISP is down, I can reboot the router from the other ISP connection, from anywhere on the planet. And in the short time I have been doing this, I have used it to resolve issues with both ISP's, thereby avoiding 20 hours of driving. I have many brands of remote power modules, as well as temperature sensors, 4 brands of surveillance cameras, a cisco dual-wan router, hvac controls, and automations to manage some of my personal "infrastructure". YoLink has been the solution for many problems, and a joy to build ifttt automations for. It is clean and simple.

I love the Yolink platform, great customer service!
UPDATE 5/3/2025 - Original Post is below Yolink reach out out to me and sent me a replacement unit even though the faulty unit was 2 years old. I will give this product 4 stars and hopefully the failed unit was isolated issue. I give 5+ stars for Yolink's customer service for promptly reaching out and offering to replace the unit. I received the replacement 2 days after providing my shipping info. ====================================== ORIGINAL POST (3/18/2025) I have 2 of these units, one for a little over 2 years and another for about 7 months. I bought the 2nd one because was very pleased with the first one. However shortly after getting the second unit I had an issue with both of them for a month or so where they would randomly go to an ALL OFF switched state. There was nothing configured in the schedules or automation rules to cause this. I disabled all schedules and automations on the new one and the issue stopped occurring on the original unit. After a month I did setup a couple automation rules on the new unit and the issue did not return as of yet but I have not setup any schedules for the new unit only automation rules. Yesterday the older unit turned off and was not reachable through the app. I checked the unit and found it had the Red light indicating ALL OFF for the plug switches but there was also this faint hissing noise. I reached up and hit the physical power button which switched to ALL ON, the blue light came on and the hissing noise got substantially louder. I unplugged everything from the older unit outlets including USB ports, turned if off via the physical button. still had the faint hissing noise and then powered on again, and it got louder again, and this is with no draw as nothing was plugged into any of the outlets. I have removed the older unit as fear of an electrical fire eventually developing. I have a lot of Yolink devices, this is the first serious issue encountered in the 3 years I have been using them.
