They say at this age an younger they can learn up to 5 words a day and since its winter were at the house a lot. So this was a great way to introduce new words and pictures of things ahe has not seen before (trying to avoid TV). She loves them! I pull them out when shes eating in the high chair, a great distraction if your child is fussy at the table btw. Now at 18 months she asks for them by saying 'card' and pointing to where i keep them. I absolutely recommend these and this brand. I like them better then the playskool ones. These are thicker cards and have the word also on the back so you know what card your showing without looking at the front. The playskool ones all have the same picture on the back and where you hold the card in your hand can sometimes cover up the word and the cards are a lot thinner. Review: Great for littles - Simple and effective. The cards are sturdy, colorful, and easy for learning.

VERY HAPPY MOMMY AND 18MONTH OLD!
I purchased these along with the Shapes & Colors flashcards and I absolutely love them. My daughter started on these when she was about 15months old and she is now 18months and she has memorized all 54cards. I do little games with her where I show her two cards and tell her to take a certain one and she gets it right! The colored pictures and solid word is a perfect teaching tool for interest and association, I also teach her the animals noises. I don't understand the complaint of the texture and them being flimsy because in my opinion their perfect for flash cards. I simply hold them and go one by one, when My daughter holds them she knows not to bend them. But all in all these (along with the shapes and colors) flashcards are great and I plan to purchase more learning tools from this shipper/store.

Fun but not helpful for teaching actual reading
These cards are well made, sturdy material, bright colors, easy to read. The words are all nouns that have easy to recognize pictures on them. This means that most of the time your preschooler will just be saying what is in the picture and actually reading the word on the card. This can help a very young one understand that words are associated with things and ideas in the real world. The first two skills your student will need to learn to read is the ability to identify letters visually. In other words they can look at the letter A and know that it is an A. The second skill will be to learn that letters "make" sounds. For instance when they see the letter B, they should know that it makes the /b/ sound (most of the time). Out of the box, this set of cards is not designed to teach either of those skills. Get a pack of index cards, write one letter on each card. Teach your toddler the name of the letter and some of the sounds that it can make, use those cards to "build" words that they can sound out (such as cat or hop). Practice that for 10-15 minutes a day a few times a week through ages 3 and 4 and they will go into Kindergarten looking like baby Einstein. No need to spend $12 bucks.

Useful and durable
Very useful. My daughter loves the cards. She's 4 years old and have developmental delay, yet she's starts knowing some of the things in the card. Good quality too durable for a toddler who chews them lol. My daughter now knows many of the words and she love playing with these cards. Not to mention how affordable these cards are. Thank you..update; this is the second time I buy these cards but this time for my little nephew since his mom saw my daughter able to read the words and know the words so she wanted these cards too

I used the flash card as a learning tool for my 3 year old ASD grandson. He enjoyed his table time because of the colourful cards. Thank you.

Ci possono giocare a lungo. Inoltre, quando noi giochiamo a carte, se loro hanno queste si siedono vicino a noi e fanno finta di giocare con noi.

Though these are thin cards & you need to give it to your child in your supervision. But they are worth buying. My daughter loved it at first sight.
