Can this be used on an electric hob?

yes Iv been using this for years.

Do I need to prepare the pot before first use? If so, what is the best way to do this?

Wash in warm water then place on the stove top and use for your favourite dish.

Can it be used on an induction hob?

I'm pretty sure induction works on magnetic energy so needs a metal pan, this product is ceramic so I guess can only be used on a gas hob.

Can you place the lid on the pot hen using the pot in the oven or when using it on an electric or gas stove?

I don’t have a ceramic lid… It only came with the plastic stand/ rest( obviously don’t put that near heat!) I wouldn’t put lid on as you want the rice to dry not steam so you get crispy bottom.
