This hook remover is basically a long, narrow set of pliers. I've seen videos where the angler squeezes the handle and the hook pops out of the fish's mouth. Basically, you grab the hook with the tool, squeeze the handle, and wrestle the hook out of the fish like you would with a pair of pliers. The advantage is, the remover is so slender you can get way down inside the fish's mouth..

Works well on large game series like pike and bass but don't intend to use it on lures with smaller hooks. It will bend them all to hell
