These are the gates I prefer when I need to confine my dog to a certain room or space, and they were my favorite when my now-teenaged kids were toddlers, to restrict their access to stairs, sequester them in a play area, etc…we even use them to keep our dog away from the pool pump area so that some backyard spaces are free and clear from …the evidence (of dogs in the vicinity)…that no one wants to accidentally step in. They are surprisingly sturdy and user-friendly once you get the hang of them. It’s really cool how adjustable they are, providing a wide range of options from narrow to extra wide in the same unit. In fact, I don’t know of any other pet gate or baby gate (that is not freestanding, meaning it is adjusts to fixed sturdily to both sides of an opening) that open as wide as these. They’re pretty durable as long as they’re used correctly, but eventually, of course, they show signs of wear. Again used correctly they can last years. They’re not upscale or fancy, but they’re not hideous or cheap looking either. They are more aesthetically pleasing, for example, than a plastic white gate, and they also do not show dirt or dust now that I think about it. What stands at the most though is how simple and functional they are. They simply do the job and they do it well. They’re versatile, and come in various widths and height, including extra tall and extra wide, but again very adjustable as well, so they can be used in a doorway or in much wider space to divide rooms or limit access: And they’re so easy to take up and down. They’re very mobile. They can be erected and removed in seconds, and there’s never any damage to the walls or stairs or banisters or wherever you mount them. I’ve used them for years and have no need for any other type of gate. These are the best ones for the kind you can take up and down in a flash.

There are many options to block doors; however, this is one inexpensive option. The gate is well made. It is not the easiest to secure to opening; but its not that difficult either.

I love this gate! It is taller than the average gate, and that is an awesome feature. I don't have to worry about my baby trying to climb over it, but it keeps the dogs from jumping over it too, which I can't say for the shorter ones. I also appreciate that it can fit a normal doorway, but it can also go much more wide than the average gate as well. Very helpful when I want to put it somewhere besides the doorway. Super easy to install and easy to use as well. I like how the bar clips down onto the other bar without any extra hardware. That's a big part of the reason I chose this one. I love this gate and am so happy I purchased it.

not too sure what others are refering to when saying this gate is difficult to use... it sets up like any other pressure mounted gate out there. to set up, of course you need 2 hands [another person is so NOT needed] line it up with your wall, choose the size, and push the bar down. to take down- you only need 1 hand, simply pull the bar up. what i love about this gate, is that when taking it down you can pull the bar completely up and not have to worry about the gate coming apart. there is a locking feature that prevents the two slats from going out the other end. you'll know what i'm talking about if you've owned the cheapy 10 dollar gate. it's tall, very sturdy, and fits bigger doorways. i use it both for dogs and children. perfect for both uses. unless you're using too tight of a setting it will not damage your walls. and of course if it falls down easily, your setting is too loose. other than that, it's easy to get up and very easy to get down.

Overall - gate functions as needed. Several cautions though. First off - using the adhesive pads for the "strike plates".... The adhesive gives you one try to get them right, otherwise, it will peel your paint and plaster right off trying to remove them, and you can't try again. I recommend NOT using the adhesive it came with and getting some of the 3M command adhesive strips and cut to size or a good removable double sided tape. Oh, and there are only 4 pads, so if you mess up once, you'll need something else anyway, because the pads are ruined. Secondly - when placing in a doorway, use caution as the pivot point edge will dig into your doorway if placed too deeply, thus damaging the wood. Same with a wall. Be careful in placement. Overall gates seem study and do function as design, but installation issues and possible damage give this lowered stars.

Bought two of these for the grandkids and absolutely love them. Super secure and easy to fit. I have no fear of someone falling down the stairs. Also, if you have a child (or pet) that can figure out how to get the gate to open, they will have a very hard time. And, by that time you will be on to them!

This is my favorite style of baby gate. I love how easy it is to instal in the moment and move around the house. We've rented for years and I wanted to find something that wouldn't damage the walls. This was perfect! It's sturdy and durable enough to where my kids couldn't nock it down and also tall enough to where they couldn't climb over (but I could!). I also love how minimalistic the style is and that it's made of wood and not plastic. I originally had a similar looking gate from another brand, but the quality was lacking and the center bar deformed. This North States Supergate Extra Wide Wire Mesh never gives me any trouble! I love that it fits in multiple spaces and has a quality feel. I would highly recommend this gate to anyone looking for a quick, move around the house, gate.

La barrera es muy fácil de instalar /desinstalar. Los sellos de goma que hacen contacto con las paredes permiten que se quede fija y no se deslice. El diseño es bonito. Muy buen producto, busque varias opciones e incluso fui a tiendas y no encontré nada con las medidas que yo quería, esta a buen precio y me parece mejor la malla cuadriculada que los barrotes, muy ligera y fácil de instalar
