Omega One Super Color Flakes 5.3 oz

I raise a number of colorful guppies and and several groups of Endler live breeder. In addition many colorful shrimps and have found that this food works best in helping them all stay healthy and in full color. If you have colorful fish and wish to keep them healthy and help them keep their colors, I highly recommend this food for all your fish. I don't use anything else as far as flake food.

These are great value for the money. For about this price, at my local store, I get something that is maybe 1/2 this size. I have always found these flakes to be a bit stiffer than normal flakes, but it doesn't really matter much since I always use my fingers to grind them up smaller. I have fish of all different sizes and my white cloud minnows have little fry on occasion so I want to make sure it is super small. I have not found ANY bones in mine. Just the stiffer flakes. I have been using this brand for over 10 years and never have had any problems with them. I have done both pellet and flakes. I like the flakes better because the pellets can be too big for little fry. If you are concerned about possibility of bones, since I notice that is a complaint on some reviews, shake the bottle back and forth while upside down. As with cereal the bigger pieces will rise to the top (since the bottle is upside down that would technically be the bottom of the container) this way only the food will be on the top when you flip it around the correct direction.

Out of all my fish flake food. This one is the most eaten for golfish, danios, loaches. They seem to go nuts when I feed this vs any other flake food.

This food is really great for bringing out the red color of my barbs and tetras. Most of my fish are omnivores that do best with a mix of plant and meat based ingredients. This food is almost all meat, so I only feed it a few times per week and Tetra Color Plus flakes the rest of the time. Whenever I move a pair from my 55 gallon tanks to a separate 10 gallon tank for breeding, I switch them to just this food until they have spawned. The shift to this food has been enough to condition them so I no long mess with buying or raising live food for them when conditioning for breeding. It does not contain copper as a preservative, so I also feed it to my freshwater shrimp once per week. Since the shrimp are primarily algae eaters, I feed them pellets that are lower protein the remainder of the week. Since I began supplementing the shrimp's food with these flakes, they have also had improvements in color and breeding rate as well. If you have carnivores that will take flakes, this food's top ingredients are Salmon, Halibut, and Shrimp, with wheat flour and Kelp being the lesser ingredients for carbs, fiber, and vitamins. The large 5.3oz lasts me a long time, so I keep the container in my freezer and take out enough to last a month or so into a smaller container. The cost per ounce for the 5.3 oz container does not cost any more than lower quality foods in small containers.

My fish love this food, it lasts a good while and keep their colors nice. The only thing is it's very powdery very small bits of flakes. But they eat up majority of it. A little goes a long way.

I noticed my molly amd swordtail fish were looking bland of late, and realized that the last tub of food I bought did not enchance colour. I've been feeding these flakes for a week now, and the difference is noticeable. The smaller fish are popping with a brilliant yellow (that was recently just a faded pale, almost translucent). The larger mollies are brighter, and will probably match the younger ones shortly. My swordtails started to show brighter colours after a few days. They love the flakes. I will definitely continue buying this product. The colour enhancement qualities of the food are true.
