There are many different artificial nails, but the manufacturer says yes, in most cases, but you should first dip the nail file into water to reduce the friction on the artificial nail.

What is the case made of?

The case is a sturdy 2 part plastic case that nests together. There is also a soft vinyl sleeve for storage.

How thick is file? 1mm or 2mm?

Mine is closer to 1mm. It is very steady. It works wonders also. I am using only this file since I bought it few months ago. The best I ever had
