The product type is Wasp, Wws100I Cordless Pocket Barcode Scanner With Sub Cable, Made in Taiwan, Manufactured by WASP, Part number is 633808920692. Review: Worked greats, just make sure to push the connector in all the way! - When I received the Wasp, it worked wonderfully. I charged it for the required 4-6 hours and then programmed it. It was great to be able to scan our work tickets into our tracking app right on my Note II. However, a couple of days ago, it started acting up. I would scan something and it would issue 5 beeps afterward, which the manual said was a low battery warning. Since I had not scanned anywhere near the stated 5,000 between charges, I thought it odd. But, I connected to my laptop's USB charging port (it did not come with the stated BT adapter or a wall wort to charge) and waited another 4 hours. After the wait, I disconnected the Wasp and tried to scan a ticket. It gave an odd series of beeps and seemingly died. I get no response when I push the button. I have yet to contact the manufacturer, as it has a one year warranty. I will update this review with the response I get and if issued another one, how I make out with it. It's disappointing really, since if it would work correctly, I want my company to buy a bunch of them to help manage our inventory. UPDATE: After a great discussion with WASP tech support, I was able to get it working again. As it turns out, the USB port on the device was a bit tight. So, I wasn't pushing the connector in far enough, which led to a bad connection when charging. As soon as I made sure to seat the connector fully, it's been charging and working like a dream. Review: Nice alternative to the Scanfob when used with the right software. - I figured I'd chime in as I've been using the Wasp for a few days now. I've been using this with an Android, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. Pros: -Cheap vs competitors scanners on the market (I paid $158 vs $300 for a scanfob). -Easy to install, connects immediately through bluetooth, no Serial Magic Gears needed. -Thinner than Scanfob -Scans relatively well -Friendly and easily accessible customer support. Cons: -Doesn't work perfectly with Profit Bandit (Enter must be hit manually after scanning, backspace must be hit to start a new scan, this is a huge waste of time and inconvenience). -Scan range does not work as well as scanfob. -Had some issues with it not working with Scanpower Webscout earlier, maybe just a one time glitch but it will be problematic if it happens again. Programs used: -Neatoscan - works perfectly no issues -Profit Bandit - scans but you will need to hit enter and then clear previous data before next scan -Scanpower Webscout - seems to work fine although I did have a glitch earlier (possibly a Wasp error, either way, doesn't bode well). Overall: If you're looking to save a few bucks this is a nice scanner vs the more expensive options. If you're planning on using this with Profit Bandit avoid it and opt for a scanfob.

Scanner paired and connected fine with Android OS
Scanner paired and connected fine with Android OS. Does not have toggle keyboard. So, if you are using a program where you need to input after scan, such as quantities this will not work on Android platform.

Pile O ' Junk
This scanner is very touchy; when on a roll it does fine, but the majority of the time it won't scan. It also barely lasts 4 hrs of use, frustrating when you have a 6-8 shift to work with it. Would NOT recommend it.

Longevity not so great
Purchase three of these scanners ... all three had battery problems after 3-6 months of use. All are being returned to the manufacturer for repair - a hassle to have to deal with this.

smaller than expected - but works great
it is really about 1/3 the size I expected but works well. The only issue is the rubber piece that goes in the charging spot when not in use - doesn't want to stay in very well. Other than that no problems.

Scans well. wish it was easier to sync
Its nice and small. But I wish they made it easier to sync to different computers. The process of synching is a pain in the butt. For example I have 2-3 computers I want to use this with. I should be able to print a barcode sticker and stick it to each computer. After I turn the machine on, if I scan that barcode on the computer I want to use it on, it should automatically sync to that one. You really need to have brains to figure out how to sync it. I couldn't rely on my warehouse personnel to be able to do this easily. They always tell me it doesn't work sometimes because it has been synched to a different machine and they just can't figure out how to do it. I scan paperwork with it. I'm not sure how good it works if the barcode is not on a flat surface. I can only speak that it scans well if the barcode is on a flat surface. You have to get close to the barcode, but that's not a problem in the way I use it. (When I say close I mean 4-5 inches away, not right up against it)

Mini barcode scanner
It is easy to use but you have to be a few inches from bar code. I really haven't used it, just tried to make sure it works.
