If the cover is folded all the way back will it still hold strongly? Would like to fold it around back and slide case into notebook slot of folio.

Ya the front cover doesn't offer any support it's only to cover the screen. The back cover has very strong magnets that hold it on place so that shouldn't be a problem. I haven't actually done what you're asking about, so I can't be 100% certain, but I don't think you'd have an issue.
