DESIGN 59 inc Mid-Century Modern Acacia Hardwood Side/End Table/Night Stand, NO Tools Required

A wholehearted five star review for this inexpensive little table. After too many years of wasting time and money on cheap furniture made of flakeboard, I was delighted to see this small table available in a solid hardwood at a very reasonable price. It arrived much sooner than Amazon had told me to expect it. It was extremely well packaged, double boxed, surrounded by closely fitted styrofoam and heavy cardboard reinforcements on the corners. The table is basically a box, open on both ends, onto which four tapered legs are screwed. All the joints of the box are fitted extremely well, tight and square. The wood has a satin finish with no flaws other than one tiny fill on the undersurface where it will never be visible. The finish on the interior of the box is just as well done as the exterior. The legs are unornamented except for a taper from top to bottom with nylon floor protectors on the bottoms and 1/4" steel machine screws set into the tops. The legs are screwed into steel inserts in the bottom of the table. No tools are required. When tightened down they are perfectly perpendicular to the surface of the table and sit on the floor with no wobble at all. PROS: 1. The acacia wood has beautiful color patterns and grain. 2. The quality of the woodworking and finishing is as good as one would expect to find on much more expensive furniture. 3. It takes longer to open the box and remove the parts than to assemble the table. 4. The table appears to be extremely sturdy and durable. 5. The table is securely packaged and protected from shipping damage. 6. Delivery was very fast. CONS: 1. Aesthetically, the style is a little confused. The top is Parsons and the legs are Bauhaus. To me this is perfectly fine but I suppose it might be disturbing to a design purist. 2. The legs do not appear to be made of acacia wood or at least do not have the beautiful color and grain patterning found in the top. They are, however, a good color match for the table. 3. For xenophobes who worry about such things, the table is manufactured in Vietnam. All in all, this table offers excellent value for relatively little money. I recommend it without reservations.

Why buy something that you then have to build? Nope. Not gonna do it. Tried it once and didn't like it. Let's make this Brief. You've looked at the 7,836 Turntable Stands that are out there and 99% of them require a degree in engineering to assemble. Those that don't look like Wooden Milk Crates and sonically couple with the floor.....so you have to Tip-Toe around the room to keep the Records from Skipping. Do yourself a favor.....From the second you open the box this Gorgeous Piece of Craftsmanship arrives in, you're gonna be in Serious Love. VERY well packed and protected and takes 4 minutes to screw the legs into the bottom. Flip it over, place your Turntable on it and put your Favorite Albums on......You're in Business, my Friend. 🍎 Total Quality worth Twice the Price. Gorgeous to Look at. "NO TOOLS REQUIRED!" This table is absolutely beautiful!!!! I first got a table that was defective, I notified the seller and they refunded me immediately. I just got the replacement, the quality is outstanding! It goes well with my mid century look. A great value, real solid wood, not that MDF crap

Very nice looking and appears sturdy. Beautiful sheen and slickness to the surface. Easy to assemble. The packaging, which is very effective for protecting the table, will generate a lot of waste cardboard and styrofoam. Assembly requires no tools except for the knives and axes required to release the 5 wooden pieces from the packaging. The legs have bolts at the ends which hand tighten into the table. This is a nice product. Made in Vietnam.

I cannot say enough good things for these guys. The table is perfect, its gorgeous and well made. I use it as a turntable stand. The sturdy legs keep vibrations to a minimum and the shelf is perfect for the sleeve of the record that is playing. I did have to place a piece of cardboard under a leg because the floor is not even which I verified with a level. I am thinking of building a little wooden rack to go under the legs which would cover wires better (although with zip ties and other wire management I could make it look nicer as is) and i think make for a nice look.

Had to send this item back. Table looks cool but was completely bowed down the length of the tabletop.

I really like this night stand. I was going to order another but the price has gone up, so I'll wait. It's well built and solid and very nice. The legs are lighter then the table, so I took off a star for that. I would have preferred they match. But....other than that I love it. Only took a couple of minutes to screw in legs. Really good purchase. Love that it's solid wood and not particle board. Edited: my happiness with this didn't last long. Wood is extremely soft and easily damaged. Mine is in the corner of my room and still has managed to get little Knicks all over it. Quality is not good. And the longer I have it the more the color difference on the legs bugs me. I would not recommend.

This item is well worth $100. Solid wood and the quality of the joinery and finish looks and feels more than the price point! I ordered one as a test and as soon as it arrived and I assembled it, I ordered another for the other side of the sofa. The packaging is very good -- a box within a box with extra space and padding and then styrofoam protecting all the surfaces. It arrived with zero shipping damage. Assembly was as straight-forward as possible. It literally took me longer to unpack the pieces than to assemble it! I would like to see Design 59 make a coffee table of the same design. I NEED a coffee table of this design!
